Aug 18, 2002 Opaque light orange colour; thick, creamy head considering how much alcohol this has; aroma shows orange, melon, alcohol, spice (thyme, mint, anise); firm body; yeasty, malty palate, dry from alcohol, more fruit (apricot, pear). I love the yeast-fruit interplay.

Jan 9, 2003 Slightly hazy golden color. Creamy, rocky lasting head. Tiny particles floating around. Aroma of sour yeast, doughy, spices, coriander, orange. Bit blond taste, not triple-like. Hoppy. Acidic palate.

Jan 2, 2003 Also very good, but not as great at the Malheu 12% (see rating). Sour dough-like nose. Hazy pale blond color and a lacy head. Juice-like tastes up front yielding to a fresh hoppiness in the end. Thinish, but a high quality beer.

Feb 21, 2004 Murky golden with a dollop of white foam on top.Nose is yeasty, slightly spicy with honey and grass dominating. Medium body with a herbal candy like flavor at the front. The herbal bitterness seems to fade in the middle, ending up with a sweet dry finish.

Nov 24, 2007 Body is a light golden color. Head is explosive with retention. It reminds me of shave cream. Aroma is floral, fruity, and sweet. Flavor is citrus, bready, and acidid. It is sometimes sweet citrus and other times the citrus is tart. It is a bold flavor but a smooth and sweet one. Alcohol is clearly present and provides warming. A very nice beer on a Winter evening.

Apr 27, 2003 Cloudy orange in color, thick, coarse eggshell colored head. Candy, spice aroma. Very fruity and acidic in the taste....the finish was very powerful, lots of alcohol in the back of the palate....not bad, but the taste needed something more.

Nov 26, 2008 Updated: Dec 17, 2008Corked bottle picked up at Whole Foods, San Diego. Pours a slightly hazy golden/straw looking color, with a small white head. Aroma is dry and a little bit fruity. Some grain is noticeable as well. Very dry flavor up front with a little bit of fruit. Some sweetness follows. Finish seems to be somewhat spiced with a light hint of bitterness. The alcohol is very well hidden.
