Bottle from MJ’s Belgian beer of the month club, 2002. Pours a hazy pale orange with a massive, fluffy, meringue-like head. Aroma was great...rich complex orangey hops and apricots. Taste was sweet, but strikingly hoppy, peppery, and yeasty. The lingering bitter finish was typical of the Malheur ales I’ve had. I really like the ales this brewery puts out.

Pour was a dingy straw color with huge amount of suspended sediment, a huge head and decent lacing. The aroma was fruity like a trippel with some mild grassiness. The flavor smacked you upside the head with sweet fruit and honey, strong bold alcohol, enormous amounts of yeastiness, lots of peppery spices, some mild grassiness and a good bitter finish. Good level of carbonation. I really enjoyed this beer. Nice!

A golden beer, with a creamy white head. Sweet and fruity aroma. Taste spicy with a hint of pepper, and a long warm aftertaste of bitternes and spices.

Bottled, Bruges, 04-11-05. A warm golden slightly hazy coloured beer with a slim white head. Wonderfully tangled and complex layers of fruitiness and spices with hops in the background this is superb and actually even slightly better than the Malheur 12

Wow. This beer was an awesome surprise. Lemony, citrusy, bread, and apple in the aroma. Superb malt flavor with a great sweetness to it. Lots of carbonation with some left over. Pours a slight hazy gold with color with lots of exuberance in the head. Great golden ale.

Huhh, strong personality...Cloudy orange body, huge foamy head. Powerful aroma of grape, fruits, vanilla and floral hop. Lively carbonation, characteristic spicey-fruity(grape), sweet and hopfull flavour. The alcohol numbing my palate...

Bottle. Hazy yellow/orange beer, white head. Aroma of perfume, hops, yeast, fruits and a bit poo. Flavour is very subtle but strong, perfume, hoppy, yeast, fruity. Sweet and bitter. Alcohol is very well hidden. Excellent brew.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Norms, September ’08

Overall Impression: Really interesting beer, different then pretty much anything I’ve tried, combination of all kinds of flavors, but none of them over powering: fruity, floral, flavorful beer. Definitely worth drinking, especially if you like beers with a unique taste to them...
