courtesy of keifdog. Pours dark amber, beige head. Aroma of nice dark fruits. Taste, yeasty, dark fruits, some nice candi sugar and spices. Overall taste is very close to a nice strong christmas ale.

I tasted this beer before I got my account with ratebeer, so I can’t really remember all the flavors.

Bottle, courtesy of redlight. Pours a dark brown with a huge cream head. Caramel, slightly fruity, bubblegum aroma, faint earthy hops. A little grainier in flavor, slightly sweet, caramel, some yeasty fruitiness, bubblegum and alcohol is evident towards the end. Faintly drying and thin with medium carbonation.

This is a pretty good beer. However, it struck me as sort of like a bock - overly cerealy with a malted milk ball sweetness. It had some nice redeeming qualities, but I couldn’t get past the sweetness. Color was dark but brilliant. Head was medium sized bubbles of consistent size, kind of like that of a macro lager. Aroma was earthy and roasty with some sourness. Flavor was sour (which was good) but offered an overly sweet unpleasantness with too much malt. Mouthfeel was clean and pretty good. I would weakly recommend this beer. I had this bottle at Paters Vaetje in Antwerp.

A dark brown beer with a small off-white head. Aromas of toasted malt, apricot, and brown sugar. More sweet than expected, full body, not very bitter at all. Finishes with a roasty flavor.

Pours a deep brown with an off-white soapy head. Aroma is of molasses, dark fruit, brown sugar, and a slight mention of hops. Flavor of the same, with a slick sugary goodness. Nice carbonation with slight hops in the backbone. Very good beer.

Opaque brown with a dense taupe head that fades in about a minute. Aroma is very rich, with sweet, fruity, alcoholic brandy notes with just a hint of leather. Taste is just as it smells, right down to the fruit. Alcohol dries on the palate, with perfect carbonation that gives way to cherry notes. $10/750
