| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 18, 2008 Bottle shared by Fidel, pours a beautiful burnt caramel color with a tan head that diminishes to a layer of coating that lingers. This one seems much more like a quad to me, with brown sugar, caramel, dried fruit and a touch of chocolate. Excellent! The flavor is much the same, with a very subtle dry finish. Really no hint of alcohol. BMan1113VR (2884), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2008 Pours with a light brown, largish, creamy head, covering a dark brown body with reddish highlights. Good retention from the head. Weakish aroma with dark fruits, cranberries, and yeast. Taste is understated aswell, with yeast, fruits and light alcohol. Mouthfeel is fizzy, but some how works well with the taste despite the high abv. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Slightly cloudy brown color, thin even khaki head. Sweet candi sugar aroma, slightly grainy with yeasty background. Typical sweet Belgian strong with an almost nutty sour twang coming through on the finish. Decent, but not outstanding. kiefdog (1606), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a dark brown to black with clearly visible particulates and thick, creamy, foamy tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of caramel, candy sugar, aged wood, hint dark chocolate, ripe fruit. Flavor is roasted malt, dark ripe fruit, candy sugar, phenol, oak, vanilla. Medium to full body with a lingering sweet malty finish. Excellent ale. Reminds me of a blend of St. Bernardus Abt 12 and Rochefort 10. emacgee (1884), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

The nose was very warm, rummy/raisiny, dark fruits, alcohol, light Belgian must. The flavor was crisp and warm, raisiny, sharp esters, fruity, some sherry. Crisp lively carbonation with a hot alcoholic mouthfeel. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
