| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Light sediment, light coffee colour, minimal bubbles. Smells like a Quad; musty dark fruit and alcohol. Intoxicating alcohol and rich grain flavour. Sweet dark fruit and alcohol reminds me of a rich alcohol based sauce for a winter pudding. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 3, 2009 From bottle at ’t Brugs Beertje. Light malt aroma with a bit of prune and caramel. Very little hops in there. Whiff of alcohol but not strong. Neutral fruit. Dark brown amber clear with creamy light tan head. Great lacing. Medium watery body with high effervescent carbonation. Starts nutty and dry and fairly malty. Sweet with nutty after. Light medium alcohol and some warming. Farily rich. Nice dark Belgian, a bit rough but nice. Spicy notes in the aftertaste. ralphdot (77), Billingham, Durham, England

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Aroma is very sweet and dark. Appearance is also extremely dark brown, the head disappears rather quickly, which is a turnoff. Both the aroma and appearance (except for the head) remind me very much of Struise Pannepot, which put up high expectations for the beer itself.
Flavorwise it’s also comparable to the great Pannepot, it only has a more alcoholic taste to it, which turns it down a little. It still is a pretty damn fine beer, it’s just not a Pannepot (yet). altonbrownd (1966), Amsterdam, Netherlands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Bottle from Bierkoning. Dark brown body with healthy head. Nose of malts but also floral and fruity. Nice taste of caramel with some spicy bite to it. Hops in the finish. Nice one. hotstuff (3183), Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2009 Caged and corked bottle. Medium sized very fizzy tan head that mostly diminished, cloudy brown body, one ring of lacing and carbonation observed. The aroma is hoppy, floral, malty, spicy, dark fruits, and hints of caramel and chocolate. The flavor is malty, caramel, chocolate, dark fruits, nutty, spicy, and the ABV is noticeable. The mouthfeel is smooth and this is a medium bodied beer. A warming sensation kicks which would make this a good beer to drink during the winter, worthy of a try, and definitely a beer I would drink again. Hank1980 (776), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 31, 2009 Bottle shared at Trappeze. Poured dark brown with a large off-white head. Aroma is lightly spiced, with sweet malt, candied sugar, fruit, and mild yeast. Taste is a mix of sweet and spice, with a good bit of sweet malt, candi sugar, and sweet spices. Again, some fruit in the taste, with some hop bitterness in the finish. Mouth is full and well carbonated. Overall, a nice quad. Lyncham (67), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Oct 20, 2009 This beer had excellent aromas from start to finish of dart roasted malts, spices, and esthers. The beer had a complete malty flavor with candi addatives, spice, licorice, a nice bittering hop finish. The carbonation was small bubbles and refreshing and the head was thick at the pour.
