25 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Dark reddish brown colour with a small head. Lovely aroma of dried fruit, yeast, brown sugar combined with a great sweetness. Powerfull flavour with notes of sweet malt, caramel, chocolate, rostedness and with big touch of hops, someway quite dry and with a high carbonation. Very nice endeed.

330 ml bottle consumed in the generous company of tiggmtl, MartinT and Rastacouere. Dark burnt caramel in color with a touch of lasting head, swirls of dark yeast....burnt, dry herbs, blackened malts and thick sweet-black molasses in the surprisingly heavy, robust aroma.....as it warms, interesting notes of French vanilla and port arrive.....on the tongue, very sweet with brown sugar and caramel, thickly malty and somewhat lightly carbonated, with a growing acerbic roasty bitterness towards the finish....nicely done, could have used a bit more carbonation to balance the thickness that becomes near-cloying, but still another fine effort from this top brewery.

Bottle Bruges 03-11-05 (and I brought some back with me) Dark brown beer, some hops and malts in the aroma, there is definately a wonderfully powerful sticky, spicy fruitiness to this beer, an excellent beer. I enjoyed all three of the Malheur beers I tried in Bruges wonderful!

Bottle, at home. Dark brown with a light brown head, mostly diminishing, excellent lacings. Aroma heavy malty (chocolate, dark sweet fruits), light hoppy. Flavor heavy sweet, light bitter, long duration. Full body, syrupy, soft carbonated. Heavy in alcohol. Perfect.

Copper in color with a little tan head. Hoppy and malty aroma. Yeasty and sweet flavor. Raisin notes. Nice hop bitterness. Finish is dry. Smooth tasting. Medium bodied. Refreshing. Very nice beer.

dark ruby-brown colour with a little beige head; the nose is dominated by a cookie maltiness and hints of chocolate, notes of alcohol are noticable in the background and seem ready to invade the palate; sweet with a very robust malt body; the finish is bitter and malty with a fair presence of hoppiness before a long warming touch of alcohol

Draught (ZBF06): Sweet, unbalanced and a little cloying. Some spicy notes along with dark fruits. Brown with a dark tan head. Ok, but not great.

As dark as a raven’s wing with a nice retro style beige froth on top. Tastes like a liquorice punch in the face. Very nice.
