Lovely aroma of dried fruit, yeast, brown sugar combined with a great sweetness. Powerfull flavour with notes of sweet malt, caramel, chocolate, rostedness and with big touch of hops, someway quite dry and with a high carbonation. Very nice endeed. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Dark burnt caramel in color with a touch of lasting head, swirls of dark yeast....burnt, dry herbs, blackened malts and thick sweet-black molasses in the surprisingly heavy, robust aroma.....as it warms, interesting notes of French vanilla and port arrive.....on the tongue, very sweet with brown sugar and caramel, thickly malty and somewhat lightly carbonated, with a growing acerbic roasty bitterness towards the finish....nicely done, could have used a bit more carbonation to balance the thickness that becomes near-cloying, but still another fine effort from this top brewery.
