An extremely heavy beer, in the same style as the best (and strongest) trappist beers from Rochefort and Westfleteren. Resembles portwine with hints of chocolate, dates -basically anything dark, powerful and sweet. The alcohol warms me up. To be enjoyed in small quantities. 210204

Apr 23, 2005 Reddish brown. Huge beige head. Sweet, leafy, aromatic aroma of black currant, figs and lemon. Sweet malty flavour of burnt sugar, dried plums and figs. Long leafy and peppery aftertaste with nice fruity undertone.

Apr 7, 2005 (on bottle)Red, woody, port-like color, very nice. A heavy taste of cask/ wet wood and big on the canesugar-molases notes. Tatsed a bit too young; would love to svae a few bottle for some years. The finish is very good balanced between alcohol and a plum-like taste.

Mar 29, 2005 Dark brown, beige tall head (a bit short). Soft carbonation. Fresh aroma. Apple juice. Coffee? Mild malty flavour. Brown sugar. Yeast. Port. Hides the ABV very well. Smooth yet sugar sticky palate. Very delicious barley wine, but rather uncomlex.
