330ml bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Pours dark reddish brown with several inches of off-white head that settles down to about a half inch. Smells of cocoa and pit fruit. Tastes of raisins and chocolate with a good deal of sweetness behind it. Not sticky or cloying though and manages to finish nice and dry. Very smooth and the 12% abv is wholly unnoticed. This stuff is dangerous.

Bottle: Incredibly easy to drink, be CAREFUL. Sweet, red fruit, bready no presence of alcohol at all! Again be CAREFUL. Food Pairing: bread pudding (and get a taxi!)

dark with a white lacing the high ABV is well hidden as most of these strong Belgium ales are. the Aroma reminds me of flowers and this is a nice hardy beer 750 ML bottle

Bottle at Poechenellekelder in Brussels. Dark brown in color with a medium tan head. Aroma is malty with dark fruit, and alcohol. Flavor is sweet caramel malt, fig/raisin, chocolate, candi sugar, and spices. Full and fairly creamy on the palate. Good stuff.

Very lively out of the bottle. Almost black in colour. Powerful aroma with malts and lots of alcohol. The alcohol in the flavour is very much a warm and soft sensastion and works well against the overall maltiness of the beer. The thick texture adds richness.

25cl bottle. clear brown, thick small light brown head. aroma is slightly sour, spicy, yeast. the sourness is slightly too dominant. flavor is spicy, faint malty sweet, alc can be tasted. faint caramel, very faint toffee. after warming up the beer gets way better.

Bottle from Root Cellar. Poured clear brown color with a large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Aroma was complex sweet malty and yeast. Medium to full body with a sticky texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet dark fruit flavor with medium sweet with small alcohol bite finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout brew.
