| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jul 1, 2009 Overall one of the best strong beers I have ever had. It has a very balanced flavor with a slightly sweet finish. It packs a punch on the ABV scale but the taste does not come across as such. dnlsartin (68), Portland, Oregon, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2009 Appearance: Pours a dark auburn brown with a pin stripe of white for head.
Aroma: Fruity Belgian yeast.
Taste: Dark fruits such as plums, raisins and dates. A little bit of chocolate, spicy hop and clove in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Velvety.
Overall: A real good beer. It doesn’t stand out from others in it’s style, so it’s good, but not outstanding. direwolf9 (29), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 15, 2009 I have an affinity for the stronger beers. At $16 a 4-pack at Central Market in Dallas this is not one I choose often but its a supurb beer. A little sweeter than I like but after one taste you know its still right up there in the upper echelons of good beers. At 12% alc if you drink all 4 during an evening you could easily become the life of the party. IrishBoy (2718), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2009 330 ml bottle courtesy of a trade with AtlAggie. Pours deep brown that allows just a bit of light to pass. The moderate tan colored head lasts through mid-glass and leaves a layer of foam with each sip. Pleasant aroma of malt, brown sugar and just a bit of earthiness. The flavor is similar with rich, sweet malt, brown sugar and just a bit of earthiness. Some mild warmth from the alcohol at the finish in no way interferes with the enjoyment of this beer. At 12% abv, this is way too easy to drink! travita (1937), Frisco, Texas, USA
