(25cl bottle) Hazy, mahogany colour with a thick beige foamy head. Slightly sugary sweet toast-malty aroma with chocolate, raisins, light notes of spices and a tinge of alcohol and herbal hops. Sweet flavour with a tinge of sourness, full bodied with a smooth carbonation. Robust toast-malty taste with caramel and almost vinous fruity notes, leading into a sweet and slightly bitter finish with a hearty alcoholic burn. Another good Malheur (21.V.09).

Bottle- Chef Paul’s. Port wine aroma, maybe some apple cider. Muddy brown with sparse light brown head. Alcohol dominates the palate- raisin, dried cherry, heavy malt flavors- "chewy", thick and dense. Mulled wine notes. Tart finish keeps this from being completely over the top sweet. This is one of the more complex brews I’ve had- a lot going on here. Substantial.

Pours a dark brown color with a nice tan color head. Aroma of dark fruits and brown sugars and malts with a alcohol top. Flavors are strong alcohol with caramel some chocolate and dark fruits like raisins with a brown sugar finish. Very strong mouthfeel and great balance of flavors with a liquor finish. Very enjoyable, well recomended.

750 mL at WBF in Raleigh. Pours a cloudy dark brown with a modest tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of cinnamon, dark fruits, Belgian yeast, rum raisin, brown sugar. Taste is nearly overpowered by cinnamon and mulled apple cider but eventually some overripe dark fruits and caramel shows through. Fizzy on the palate. 12% is very well hidden. Very good.

Orlando, Fl. - Knightly Spirits - 750 ml caged corked bottle. Nice chestnut dark brown pour with a initially frothy head that leaves spotty lacing and diminishes fairly quickly. Nutty aroma with hints of chocolate and caramel. Delectable flavor with plenty of malty goodness. Some rum raisin, dates, a wee bit of chocolate, caramel and some candied sugar. Thickish mouthfeel. Rather enjoyable if you ask me!

This 750 ml bottle cost $11.65. It poured a dark brown with tan head. and good lacing. Nose of caramel malts and ripe fruit. Very rich mouthfeel. Flavor is yeasty and the finish shows bitterness.

Bottle, 25 cl I don’t really like the smell (alcoholic), but what a relief when I tasted the beer! Awesome taste of caramel and candy sugar: sweet and a small twist of bitterness. Very nice!!

bottle, 25 cl, no head, looks a bit like a coca cola, dark chestnut-colour, very strong alcohol smell, brandy smell, mild sweet, very nice grainy taste!, you feel the alcohol burning in the throat, lovely caramel. Despite the appearance I like the beer! It’s heavy stuff!
