Caramel, toffee, butter, honey malt (H); flowery hops (M); vanilla, cask wood aromas. Smells very warm and sweet. Deep golden body. Moderately sweet flavor becomes a heavily sweet, lightly bitter finish. Even though the taste is very sweet, the flavor comes across as being very soft…the beer is never cloying. Medium body, creamy texture, flat carbonation. The bottom line is: flavor is lacking because of its softness.

(Brewtopia04 -- cask) Clear amber body with small off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, caramel, some orange, grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, orange, caramel. Finishes with a medium alcohol burn. Medium-full body. Nice sipping beer.

(Draught) Golden body with a thin, white head. Sour citrus that is not balanced by malt. Hoppy with a slight malt finish. Good alcoholic representation.

Sherry-like aroma. Super pale colour. Nice dark fruit at first but alcohol was very apparent. Very thin body. Perhaps could have benefitted from further aging although that would have probably increased the oxidation. Sampled at the post-TapNY tasting session.

Hop resins emanate from the clear pale bronze color (?!?)...Honey tries to hold on to the alcohol and gets help from the fresh grain...Highly unusual barley wine from the firkin...

TAP NY sample. Very light, lagery color. Decent whiskeyish-malty aroma, hints of figs or dates. Vanilla-scotch in flavor, noticeable alcohol, quite flat and dull on the tongue.
