12oz bottle, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a dark, clear chewy-brown color; khaki-colored head with patchy lacing. Lots of nuttiness, dried red fruits, and peanut shells in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: tea-like malts and nuttiness; slightly astringent, chalky, tannic; solid nut character, with some fruitiness coming through. Medium finish, showing tea, toasted malts, and dried fruit.

12oz bottle. Strange nutty bran and dog food nose, with some celery/grassy hop notes. Strange, pallid flavor, papery texture, with more bran and bread crust, some chestnuts, some toast, and some out of place vegetal hop flavors.

On draft at Whiskey’s of Mammoth. A nice brown hue followed by a warm chocolate malt, toasted nutty waves and mild hop hints with a super smooth finish, I can’t wait to have another!

Pours thinly, producing a body of rich mahogany; weak skin of grey leaves a sticky film of lacing along the sides of the glass. Forceful and slightly pungent aroma of pepper, peat moss, wet mulch and iron; watery hints of toffee and red berries. Taste brings a tepid, crisp montage of autumn leaves, milk chocolate, cinnamon, a bit of maple, and red apple. Not stunning, and highlighting the lesser qualities of its components, but predominantly pleasant. Quite dry, with hints of holly, cedar wood, and browned banana; a crisp, warming Christmas spice character seems most recurrent throughout. Medium in body, smooth, but somewhat tightly wound. Finishing smack of dry, leafy earth, medium roasted coffee and toasty brown sugars. Plain, but amiable. Thanks Alex!

12oz bottle acquired in trade with riversideAK (thanks!). Poured a deeper brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, caramel, and a littel nuttiness. Tastes of chocolate, roast, and nutty. Light coffee finish. A drinkable brown ale.

Strong aromas of chocolate and coffee. Opaque brown/black color with a decent tan head. Medium body with near creamy carbonation. The flavor moves to roasted/toasted dark malt. It’s heading for porter or stout. Quite smooth. There is a light piney hop note in the finish along with the toasted bitter. The finish is dry and decently bitter. It’s really good.

clear cola brown color and a small khaki head. tart, roasted chocolate aroma. medium thin body, softly carbonated with full, big bubbles. sweet, nutty chocolate taste, but not cloying, has a nice dry finish. good underlying roasted bread notes. overall pleased, it wasn’t too overpowering, but nice and easy drinking
