alexanderj (2212), Chino Hills, California, USA Sep 15, 2009 Bottle, High Country Pilsner. Poured a clear ruddy gold with a frothy white head. Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, grain with a bit of grassy/earthy in the finish. Flavor was pretty solid for an underwhelming style. Sweet malt, cereal/grain, grass, with some yeastiness. Not a great flavor by any stretch, but it did have a bit of complexity. That being said, I’m not sure I’d have this one again. IrishBoy (2685), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 23, 2009 Bomber from GM Liquors. Nose of grassy and floral hops with some grainy breadiness and light sweetness. Lightly hazy yellow with a lightlt lacing very pale yellow head. Flavor is light sweetnes contrasted by light bitterness and some corn pop cereal. Finish has just a touch of bitter. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Mar 23, 2009 Clear golden with a white head. Nice honey sweet malty aroma with spicy peppercorn. Silky smooth mouthfeel. Light spicy and floral hop flavors ride a honey sweet pale malt base brew. The best lager I’ve seen in a long time... DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Aug 12, 2008 22-May-08 (12-oz bottle: Purchased 12-May-08 for $1.89 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) This American-style pilsener has a very grainy but minimally sweet malt base that is balanced by dusty, spicy and lightly floral hop flavor and light-medium bitterness. Unfortunately, a fairly prominent flavor of dry corn husks quickly emerges in the evolution and dominates the finish. Aromas of grainy and slightly bready malts, hay, and a hint of dusty hops are readily apparent, but like the flavor, the nose is tainted by the smell of corn husks. Very dry on the palate, but also somewhat astringent as well. Carbonation is medium-high. Hazy yellow body is initially capped by an inch of white foam that slowly settles to and holds a thin layer, depositing densely packed foamy lace on much of the glass. Overall, it’s just unpleasant enough to not want to finish the bottle. unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Apr 20, 2008 12oz can. Light golden color. Big floral hop aroma. Tastes like a CD-Pils. Bready. Big hop florals all over the palate. Very light bodied. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Apr 5, 2008 Date: 03/22/2008
