Commercial Description:
An ode to the Owens Valley and the Highway 395 corridor, this Double IPA is distinctly bolder than out Epic IPA and celebrates the aromas of wild local fresh hops, sage, and juniper.

Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has strong notes of hops and citrus peal, as well as some notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, malt, alcohol, over ripe fruits, and spices, leading to a dry grapefruity finish. Nice one. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours golden deep amber with a small and off-white head. Aroma is dry, pine-wood and slight caramelish. Sweet caramelish flavoured. Slight bitter and fruity too. Fruity and roasted flavoured into the finish.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of JohnC. Pours an almost clear deep amber with an off-white head. Very spicy and juicy peachy hops. Medium body, sweet tropical fruit and caramel with a distinct perfumy hoppiness - pine and peaches. Bitter finish. Lovely. 231109

Picked up at Total Wines in Roseville, Ca. Pours a coppery amber color with a light cream head that dissipates fast, but leaves a ring at the water line for the duration. Smells of alcohol and malt. Tastes very similar to a barleywine. Not what I was expecting. Especially just after a Pliny. The flavor of alcohol is somewhat strong, and it’s a little buttery. No real aftertaste. Not bad, but not complex either...

Bottle courtesy of ericandersnavy. Murky orange pour. Interesting head formation. Has some hurricane swirls. Nice fat hops, very wet smell. Taste has a little tartness with a hopped bitter that slowly ebbs onto the palate. None of the sweetness that sits on the nose remains in the flavor. Kind of a leafy taste with soil and wood. Slightly hoppy but mainly strongly bittered.

Bottle compliments of Dale. Dark cloudy orangish red with small white head. Aroma of grapefruit, orange, sweet candy and dried fruits. Taste of orange zest, hops, a little alcohol, some mild bitterness. Pretty well balanced. Medium pallet. Overall I enjoyed this and would like some more. Thanks Dale!

22oz bottle bought in Mammoth. Solid malt backbone is ruined by too much sage/juniper. Drinks even heavier than the 8% ABV. Hops don’t have enough presence. Really just not my thing, but besides that it’s just a mess of a flavor profile that doesn’t come together.
