The flavor was mostly hops with hints of citrus. Overall, tasty but a tad too spicy for me. obxdude10 (1558), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2009 The California Dreamin is one of the better offerings I’ve tasted from Manayunk. Unfortuntely, that’s not saying a whole lot. I haven’t been impressed at all with this brewery, and their interpretation of the double IPA style falls short, just like most of the rest of their lineup. This beer did have a nice hoppy profile, with citrus, bread, caramel malt and grass. But it wasn’t outstanding. There was nothing in this beer that demands it to be included in a conversation of the better IIPA’s. boto (1336), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Draught @ The Epicurean: This one pours a hazy, orangish color. There wasn’t too much head on mine. They did serve this beer far too cold. It took some warming to get a decent aroma our of it. It was still a little lighter in the aroma department for a DIPA. Mainly citrus hops to the nose. The taste was OK. It was not overly bitter at all, actually tasting more like an IPA. Taste was dominated by grapefruit hops. Decent enough, But I won’t be going out of my way to have another. vtafro (475), , New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 28, 2009 Tap @ Capones. Light golden pour. Aroma and flavoring of a citrus based IPA, quite hoppy. Not my favorite IPA by far. Rciesla (3645), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2009 Draft at Capones. Pours a hazy orange brown body with an off white head. Earthy, spruce, light citrus and grapefruit character. Hint of almond and some light etoh but masked well by hops. DeputyAndy (85), New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Pours a clear amber, not too hazy. Nice smell. Deeper tasting ipa with more of a dark taste than the upfront bitterness. Think 90 Minute IPA but not nearly as complex. fredandboboflo (1418), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Tap at the brewpub. Aroma of tangy hop notes, largely grapefruit with some pineapple notes and bready malt. Flavor very sweet and bready up front with grassy, earthy, bitter hops joining in. Bitter finish with some alcohol and grapefruit notes. An odd and powerful concoction, can’t say I terribly loved it. Damico (174), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 18, 2009 This beer has a beautiful golden-orange color. It tastes fruity and spicy like a white ale, but ends with a cascade of beautiful hoppiness. There is a subtle but enjoyable boozy flavor on top of the whole sip. I love this beer.
