Commercial Description:
Double Down Brown COFFEE BROWN ALE Place your bets, if you like beer and coffee this one is for you. Infused in a Southern English Brown Ale is over one pound per barrel of organic Sumatra coffee, which plays a soft, supportive role. Deep brown in color the luscious malt interplays with the coffee, finishing soft and quite lovely. 5.3% ABV, 15 IBUs

Draft at the brewpub. Pours deep red brown with a thin head. Roasted coffee dominates both the flavor and aroma. A light sweetness lies underneath, and a lingering roasted bitterness lasts in the finish. Pretty good.

Tap at the brewpub. Aroma of doughy malt with some coffee. Flavor of sweet malt with that coffee. Weak mouthfeel. Ok.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet pale malts. Flavor of nice coffee beans and roasted malt, perhaps a touch of crystal malt. Nice and drinkable, but it has a weak palate. 6/4/7/3/14 (3.4/5)

My favorite of the Manayunk brews this time, which is saying a lot since I normally hate browns. Coffee brown - good idea. The coffee balances everything out with good chocolate notes and slight bitterness.

Its brown, amazing. Nose is DMS and a bit malty with some coffee. Flavor is similar to chewing week old coffee grounds. Very off putting. terrible.
