22 oz bottle. Pours a muddy dark orange/amber color with a creamy off white head. Aroma is malt with hints of chocolate and caramel. Palate is soft, smooth and full bodied. Flavor is full of malty sweetness with a lot of breadlike flavors. Some nuttiness too. Very enjoyable, but with the sweetness, I don’t think I’d want to many at a time.

22 oz bomber. Dark amber cloudy brown pour with a nice medium than head. Aroma of faint chocolate, malt and toffee. Taste is dominated by malt with faint hops and almonds in the finish. I really enjoyed this beer.

22oz bomber obtained at McKinnon’s in Salem, NH. Pours a hazy amber-red with a good inch of slowly dissipating khaki head. Smells malty, with strong toffee, caramel, and chocolate components. Tastes very malty sweet as well, with caramel and toffee playing big roles, hints of chocolate and coffee, and a slight nuttiness toward the finish. Medium to full in body with amble carbonation. Easy drinking and flavorful. Everything I’d want in a typical American example of the style, and another top-shelf offering from this brewery.

Pours a two-finger cream head that fades slowly leaving some lace. Cloudy amber color. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light malty nose. Flavor is caramel malts that are nearly balanced by the hops. Decent Märzen. Brewmaster puts the ABV at 7.0%. $4.39 for a 22oz bottle from Concord Co-op Market Concord, NH.

My Bottom Line:
This cuddly and mellow Märzen focuses on soft bread flavors and shy fruitiness for a quaffable but underhopped version of the style.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam stays atop the reddish orange highlights.
-The mouthfeel was much bigger than expected for the style.
-Malts do not offer much more than simple bread flavors.
-There is no crispness at all and the hops are nearly absent, perhaps contributing some faint leafy citrus notes.

Bottle.

dark orange pour with frothy offwhite head, great appearance so far. Some caramal and sweet toasted malt in the aroma. Flavor reflects this with a straighforward malt character, some toasted notes. Palate is clean and refreshing, finish is a little dry with a little bit of lingering flavor on the tongue. Pretty nice job

Dark orange with reddish tints and an excellent two finger lasting off white head. Some sweet malt in the aroma with some mild toasty notes. Hop aroma is lacking, accentuating the malt facets. Flavor is very forward in its malt character- toasy and bready with slight hop character to balance it all out. As the style dictates, this is all about the malt character. Palate is soft and smooth with a medium body and carbonation. Finish is clean and a tad dry. I liked this one, malt character is accentuated nicely without being cloying or over hopped.

Large bottle. An OK example of the style. Pours dark orange. Not all that exciting and a bit too sweet for my taste though.
