| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 7, 2007 Bottle, can hear some carbonation as it pours to its dark cola-like colour with a frothy tan head. A warming malt aroma with a touch of caramal. A nice and light mouthfeel (not surprisingly), with a little bit of carbonation. An easy malty flavour with just a hint of chocolate. Would happily drink this over a session. limalimamoli (52), Oceanside, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 6, 2006 Very light aroma struggled to get any malts and no hops aroma. Some fruits as raisin but struggles to get that. Copperto dark brown in color, slight haze low head low carbonation. Lighter than a sweet stout. seems almost like a lager or a swartzbeer hughie (3067), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Dark brown with a small head. Unpleasant wet dog aroma. The taste faint, creamy and slightly sweet, devoid of any real interest. Quite a depressing beer. Fin (3446), Merton, Oxfordshire, England
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 5, 2006 Bottle, Sainsbury’s, Kidlington selling at £1 a bottle. I was quite shocked to note that this was only 2.8% but then I suppose brown ales are quite weak. Poured dark brown with barely a head to speak of, bit caramelly on the nose and sweet in the taste, I found this to be absolutley fine and nice to drink something that is still quite tasty despite it’s lack of oommph. yngwie (4974), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2006 Bottled. Clear, dark brown with a reddish hue, topped by a small, dense tan head. Quite heavy roasted malt in the aroma, along with coffee and malty sweetness. Sweet and roasted flavor. Thin to medium body, with some Co2 in the mouth. Long roasted finish. It wasn’t until I finished the bottle that I noticed the ABV. Surprised I was. (060712) Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 21, 2006 Bottle. Not surprisingly, it’s brown. Sort of a used penny brown. Small layer of quickly fading tan head. Kind of a murky swampy smell. A touch of dark carmel and toast. Very light, slightly dry toast with a pinch of brown sugar. Sort of a murky taste hovering around in the back. Not outright off, just sort of an underlying filter-through-wet-leaves character. For the very low abv the mouthfeel is not bad. Just enough carbonation to keep it from tasting flabby. Not so much that it feels like soda. That balance is harder to strike in such low test beer. Neither inspiring nor terrible. It gets a 10. dj (422), Gloucestershire, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2006 Bottle, 500ml. A dark brown coloured pour with a small diminishing head. A slightly musty aroma with hints of citrus. A nice malty taste with chocolate quite evident. A light bitter finish with hints of chocolate. Light carbonation. This is a very drinkable brown ale (especially considering the low ABV) and pretty cheap too.
