Bottled at RBESG 2008. A deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, while the flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt and medium notes of soy sauce and wood, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Bottle via trade with cgarvieuk. Thanks Craig. Decided to pull this out a take it down for fun. Pours black with a very nice light brown head. Nose is sweet and malty and rich with a slightly fruity tinge. Taste is rich and some what burnt, with a lot of malt. Aspects of this are good, but other aspects are nice. I feel pretty mixed on this one.

Bottle via reakt in trade. Nose is of gentle dark malts, chocolate bars and hot toffee. Body is acrid and bold. "For six long days and weary nights they tried to find her trail. Churchill told the people "put every ship to sail! Cause somewhere on that ocean I know she’s got to be!" Out of our exceptionally relaxed trade, this was the one I had my hopes up to arrive. As if by magic it was in the box. So to make sense of the above quote...reakt sank the Bismark. Body has just enough coffee for a biting yet gentle finish. This must be fantastic on draft. Fortunatly for me there is a direct flight to Manchester from Newark.

(Bottle) Pours black. The aroma is of tar, salt liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate and prunes. The flavour is heavily roasted with tones of coffee and dark bitter chocolate alongside some citric hops. Medium to heavily bitter and dry. Medium to full bodied.

(6/29/08) Bottle sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Black-colored. Aroma of roasted malt and quite a lot of hops with some citrus notes. Flavor starts a bit sweetish and malty and finishes with a lot of juicy hoppiness. Medium to full-bodied.

Bottle, Opened and consumed at Merton Summer BF 2008 - big thanks to Mes. A beautiful looking beer; black with a frothy coffee coloured head. The aroma has chocolate, fruit, light roast and a hint of sourness. Full bodied in the mouth with lots of roasted malts. Caramel, chocolalte and fruit, and maybe a little too much soy sauce. Quite heavy but very enjoyable.
