Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, flowers, grape, orange. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat. Very nice. ;o)) (020508) harrisoni (5605), Ashford, Kent, England Jun 3, 2008 Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. The Marble beers really were a highlight of the festival. Clear dark orange colour with thin beige head. Flowery, earthy grapefruit. That’s an outstanding dry IPA. Fantastic aroma. Not bitter enough on the end maybe, but a stunning beer. Hops then zipping around in the mouth, mmmhhh.. what a great taste tons of flavour, some sweetness and malts sit below and play very much second fiddle to the hops. A super beer although (for me) I think teeters on the edge if there had have been much more of a hoppy bang and flavour it may well have just tipped over and become unbalanced but it skillfully takes things to the max without overdoing it, wonderful! Incredible grassy hop aroma full of spruce and pine. Slight petrol notes but in a good way, honestly. Floral and wonderfully aromatic. A shrine to hops. Fanbloodytastic flavour. Huge orangey hops with a lovely earthy malt base. Very slight sweetness. Hardly any bitterness on the finish and only very slightly dry. Makes it really different. Stunning palate. All round gorgeous. Think of a hoppy alcoholic orange juice and you are almost there. It’s better than I have made it sound I promise...
