Magicdave6 (4153), London, Greater London, England Aug 13, 2008 Cask in Blackfriars. Aroma is biscuity pale malts, small caramel note, grassy, earthy peppery english hop. Taste is soo well balanced, its like the classic bitter, its awsome so i got ruined on it while i was working.
DruncanVeasey (1913), No. 46, Leicestershire, England Jan 4, 2009 Updated: Jan 5, 2009The Knott, Manchester. Pale lagery looks. Muted butter and odd sweet Strawberry Chewit and fern aroma. Rattle of overhead train, Tom waits rasping on the box, chlorophyll reinforcement. Sickly strange and medicinal with cherry, hay, and vanilla. Long sweet biscuit. Needs a bit of warming up. Dried apricot/hairy citrus. Not enough bite for me. Sweet and weird. fonefan (6078), Ulfborg, Denmark Feb 7, 2008 Cask (handpump) @ Marble Arch, Manchester M4, UK. (180108) MesandSim (4713), Highgate, Greater London, England Jan 27, 2008 A Mes rate: Cask at the Marble Arch Inn.
Nice gold colour with a good white head. Very grassy green hoppage in the nose with a slight sweetness from the malt. Straight forward malt and hop flavour. Slight tea, light tobacco notes and a nice creamy bitter finish. Beats Boddys for sure if you ask me. jammin7jg (139), Withington, Manchester, England May 6, 2007 [CASK: The Lass-O-Gowry, Manchester 18/02/07] A poor bitter and definatly doesn’t live up to its name. Manchester is a city of good ales and this is a most dissapointment! Don’t bother to try you will just be let down.
