tonight’s best of tasting: great head, brussels lace and color. beat out duvel and st bernardus. flowery and herby with suberb nectar in the background. Leffe blonde on steroids. Rerated - either had an exceptionally good bottle the first go round, or maybe was just too enthusiastic. Great beer, but not a 4.6

Tap at Lucky Baldwins. This tastes Like a Rochefort 9. Yes I said nine on purpose. Thick, raisiny, yeasty, syrupy, sweet, balanced, superb. That this is a tripel is flooring. Wow.

750-milliliter bottle. Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a generous, fluffy head. Aroma has that rotten garbage sweet smell that seems to be common of tripels and dubbels. Flavor is good with dark fruits and apricot and is only slightly bready. Alcohol burn is modest, on par with its 10% ABV. Good overall, but not a world-class performance in my opinion.

750 ml bottle. Clear orange colour, big off-white head. Fruity aroma, with apples, citrus and a whiff of alcohol. Caramel malts, plenty of fruits, a little yeast and a nicely warming, dry hoppy finish. The mouthfeel is medium-bodied and smooth.

Bottle. Pours an orange amber body with a big off white creamy head. Lots of fruit latent alcohol, citrus, apricots. Finish is dry with a hint of wood. Good brew.
