Perfumey aroma, some apple, some pear. Deep orange, long-lasting tight small head. Appley palate, no real depth, but quite pleasant. Some almond in the finish. Certainly pleasant, but no wows. The macro equivalent of decent abbey beer, perhaps? jimthechap (174), Christchurch, New Zealand

The initial aroma was a touch foreboding; sweaty armpit typical of britannomycaes even though I am not absolutely sure it is fermented in that manner. However this gave way to golden malt aromas and a niff of underlaying hoppiness. The scent is unmistakeably Belgian.
The goldenness permeated through to the first complex malt flavours and lush depth of hops. Smooth initially and then a prickliness from the carbonation. Incidentally the head lasted well after the beer disappeared... good lacing. Good to look at and well worth having another. syton98 (44), USA

Pours golden with a nice head that lingers at about an 1/4 inch. Small is spicy with some wheat over tones. Flovor is dominated with spice and grain. It is crisp but the flavor fads fast. It is a nice summer drink ratman197 (3224), Arvada, Colorado, USA

Aromas of banana, spice and light straw. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, light fruittiness and a hint of spice with a crisp dry fruity finish. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2009 330 ml bottle, bought at Systembolaget, Sweden. ABV is 6.0%. Golden colour, huge white head. Lovely aroma of Belgian ale yest and spices, hints of farmhouse kitchen. The flavour is mildly spicy and quite refreshing, but I’d like some more hops in the finish. A very drinkable beer all the same. Joakgust (333), Stockholm, Sweden

Aroma is malty with notes of yeast, alcohol and ripe fruit. Flavor is acid fruity with notes dried fruit and malt. Pretty ok belgian ale, no more, no less. The beer literally bursts from the bottle upon popping the cap. Poured in increments, this raises a massive bubbly head on a cloudy orange-gold body. Spicy, sweet, yeasty, and fruity aroma. Delicious flavour of biscuity toffee, sweet spices, and stewed cherries. Really nicely flavoured, medium bodied, satisfying. Fagner (19), São Paulo, Brazil
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Bottles in São Paulo and in Brussels - A good beer, golden appearance with a great and foamy head. Light malt aroma and a bit sweet taste. Very slight hops but heavy on yeast perspective. Not brilliant.
