Smell: Ripe fruit, sweet, yeast and nuts.
Taste: Sweet but not so fruity, some nuts, spicy with some yeast and a slight alcoholic taste. However it’s pretty smooth and easy to drink. It feels very balanced but I would have preferred some more spicy taste to it. tmoreau (595), Lombard, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Served in a beautiful, Maredsous logo stemware at a launch party at the Bavarian Lodge, Lisle, IL. Poured a clear, golden/amber, with a white head that diminished to a bubbly layer and a small ring of clingy lacing. The aroma was a little sweet, with notes of floral, fruit, and light spice. The flavor continued these and a light malt sweetness but also exposed some tartness. Medium bodied and good carbonation. Would have liked some finishing dryness, but didn’t sense any. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 24, 2009 Draft @ Toronado San Diego. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a big, white, frothy head that lasts for a while and leaves a gorgeous lacing. Aroma is fruity/yeasty, rich in notes of apples, banana and vanilla, delicately spiced with coriander and cardamom. Flavor si sweet and soft with the yeast a little too present, showing touches of vanilla, honey and coriander. Very low hop profile. Cletus (5056), Connecticut, USA

Smells of perfume, sugar, yogurt, citrus, grassy. Tastes of caramel, sugar, some light spice. Nose is much better than the taste. liinis (721), Helsinki, Finland

Aroma is of fruity malts. Flavors are dry and fruity with good malts some vanillas and brown sugars, bitter and a little sweet and sour but very well balanced. Very very good beer, I love the whole Maredsous family. PJClarke (708), London, Greater London, England
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2009 On the orange side of amber with a foaming white crest. Home to an acidic grapefruit nose with a light hoppiness. In the mouth it provides tight fruit flavours along with malt notes arising slowly. A strangely sterile finish. Thin but smoth and nicely carbonated. Boozy but a very pleasant beer. thornecb (1792), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

Crisp and hoppy upfront, turning fruity, yeasty and boozy. Taste similar to a white wine. Lasting hop finish. Very nice.
