Draft at brewpub, my version had fermented out to a solid 7.7. Deep brownish burgundy color. Raisiny aroma, but not strong. Belgian yeast notes were faint in the mouth, woven with dark fruits and a good malt body. It was good, but somehow not quite distinctive enough. Perhaps needs a funkier yeast?

Draft. Brown with a beige head. Roasted malt and spice aroma. Very fruity, malty, spicey, yeasty flavor. Rich and complex. Lingering esters. Medium body and easy to drink.

Cask at the RAF 2003: Great yeasty aroma, though more like a tripel than a dubbel. . . Dark red brown, not too much spice in the flavour, but fruit and malt are very nice on the palate. Though a strange dubbel a beer I would do again.

The yeastiness didn't seem to mix with the red fruitiness (plum, grape, raspberry) and made it seem like a jumbled mess. Something was missing.

Deep dark brown. A kind of medicinal rubber quality. Fairly thin in the palate. Dark, malty, and grapes.
