Transparent copper with a creamy white head. Sweet, doughy nose with some caramel sugar. Flavor has a nice orange citrus hop flavor with most of the caramel and some nice toasted notes. Dry finish. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 15, 2009 On tap. Clear orangey brown with an off-white head. Lightly sweet caramel in the nose. Medium body, sweet burned caramel and perhaps a whiff of nuts, but also a strange unclean edge of something that’s a bit off-putting. 110709 yespr (11645), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 25, 2009 From tap at the brewpub. illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jul 13, 2009 RBSG09 on tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep brownish amber with a thin tan head. Aroma is crystal malt with some tangy hoppiness. Flavor is big on iced tea with an obnoxious sweetness, the typical result of too much crystal malt. Some caramel and C-hops with a light roasted character and a bready dry finish. larsniclas (3383), Gothenburg, Sweden Feb 20, 2009 Draught at the brewpub
Deep copper.
Aroma with some weird coffee-ground and some chocolate.
Metallic in flavour with coffee.
Dry and pretty harsh, medium bitterness. Brewsmith (136), Torrance, California, USA Nov 21, 2008 From a 22 oz. bottle purchased locally.
Amber with a slight red hint to it. Puffy light tan head. A slight haze to it.
Aroma is fruity with a slight floral character. Slightly musty in the background.
Taste is "old bottle been in the warm truck and warehouse too long before being placed on the store shelf with fluorescent lighting for even longer" It’s the lemon iced-tea flavor I’ve found before in many a pale ale, amber, red and other big hops/big malt beers. Too bad.
Medium bodied and smooth carbonation but with a sharp acidic bite to the finish.
If this beer was in good shape I’d beet it would be pretty tasty. Too many good beers are ruined between the brewery and the glass.
