Commercial Description:
"White Knuckle Ale" is a Double India Pale Ale. That's right, twice the malt and twice the hops in one 14 barrel batch. It is named in honor of the exciting bike trail on Mt. Tam. If you are a "hophead", this one's for you; fat, chewy, resiny and pungent! Pour into a wide-mouthed glass and get ready to rip!

Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest ’07. Right up there with all the other bomb IIPA’s at the event, one of the better ones of the festival, alongside Doheny Double IPA. Rich floral aroma, lots of resin and grapefruit, and hefty caramel malts. Sappy flavors linger forever. Right up my alley.

PP Strong Ale Fest 07. Last beer of the fest for me, and damn I missed some good things but drank a lot of super high quality beer. Pours orange with a thin tan head. Nose is hoppy sweet, and very citrussy. Taste is sweet hoppy and very very big in flavor.

Tasted at Strong ale fest Carlsbad. Deep golden hue on top of a nice head. Some citrus floral scents. Straight ahead powerful hop bitterness. Low maltiness and slight resin.Pleasant finish. Good DIPA .

Tap @ Toronado. Amber or darker amber. Aroma is rich with PNW hops: grapefruit, citurs, pine, resin, etc. Body is medium to heavy, somewhat sticky sweet. I wanted more bitterness, but still enjoyable.

Bomber. Thanks, after4ever! Pours clear dark copper with a lacy white head. Pine, papaya and pineapple in the nose. Medium body and light carbonation. Sweet taste of caramel, citrus, papaya. Semi-dry finish with some lingering piney goodness.

22. Thanks, AgentSteve! Pours crystal clear dark amber with yet another towering fluffy white head, ample lacing, and huge sweet piney nose. Did somebody get a good deal on Columbus hops in Cali this year? If so, how did they pull that one off? Nice medium body, soft carb, and gently sweet and forward flavors. Tangy pine and slight overtones of tropical fruit, but very much a piney DIPA. Good stuff. Certainly not the most interesting hoppy beer CA has to offer, but definitely lovely and refreshing.

On tap @ 2007 GABF poured a clear gold with a lasting amber head. Aromas of pine, grapefruit, light carmel and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of grapefruit, pine, light earthiness and light carmel with a smooth lingering bitter finish.
