Big time West Coast hop aroma, with grapefruit, resin, which does show a mild amount of oxidation. Spruce and resin flavors, with hints of mint and lemon rind, which truly reveal what the hop is like at its core. Very little malt backing, but we are talking West Coast here, where the Double IPA’s are at there best. Would possibly be more delicious if my bottle wasn’t 6-8 months old (approximately), but I will rerate when the time comes. 1FastSTi (2579), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 7, 2005 Sampled this one by myself. Such a nice beer to have 22 oz of... The aroma is oranges galore! Very aromatic. Very nice! Wow! Tons of citrus hops. Very crisp and fresh. The bottle pouts to a dense sheet of ultra tiny white bubbles atop a super hazy bronze/amber body. Excellent lacing. The flavor is very complex. Orange slices, orange zest, thick caramel malts, grassy, sweet and hoppy. There’s sort of a chalky flavor too. The palate is thick, chewy, rich, medium-full bodied, and bitter. Very good beer! MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 16, 2005 Warm metallic-orange color. Somewhat faded spice, earth and citrus hop characters in the aroma with crystal malt backing. Flavor has toasty malt and mega-hops with nice medium-high bitterness and surprising balance. Pleasing, lingering aftertaste, better than most DIPAs that I can recollect. Very enjoyable. Thanks DarkElf. beeryum (652), Norcross, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 25, 2005 Bottle. Orangey amber hazy pour. Big citrusy piney hop aroma, with sweet caramel malts. Huge piney and citrusy lemon hop flavors, balanced decently with big initially sweet caramel malts. Fairly bitter back end, tho not huge crushing bitterness of other IIPAs. Very nice. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2005 Courtesy of Pailhead. Pours copper/amber with decent white head. Nice citrus/pine hop aroma, maybe a little muted. Flavor is all hop, mostly pine, slight fruity character in the background. Almost no malt evident in this whatsoever. Scores decent, just doesn’t come together. Pailhead (2602), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Nice citrus hop aroma with a light sweetness for some balance. Pours a transparent orange with a small white head. Flavor is has lots of pine hops with a lighter blend of citrus hops. Caramel is hiding in the background more so than actually balancing the flavors. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA

Poured an effervescent amber with a tall fizzy white head. Strong grassy hops aroma. Taste is grass and grapefruit bitter hops with a touch of sweetness from the malt. Long bitter finish. Very nice IIPA.
