Commercial Description:
"White Knuckle Ale" is a Double India Pale Ale. That's right, twice the malt and twice the hops in one 14 barrel batch. It is named in honor of the exciting bike trail on Mt. Tam. If you are a "hophead", this one's for you; fat, chewy, resiny and pungent! Pour into a wide-mouthed glass and get ready to rip!

cloudy orange gold color with some yeast particles floating. quick off-white/light tan head. aroma is hoppy and citrus/lemony! medium mouthfeel. flavor is tangy citrus hops. nice sweet malt balance too, which is nessesary for negotiating switchback singletrack trails too! I really enjoyed this as I’m not the bigggest fan of IIPA that are all grapefruit. might be my favorite of the style.

Well, it certainly is twice the hops. Dark orange in color, and very hazy. Very hoppy, and has overlying citrus tones. The swing between sweet and bitter is dramatic, and adds to the character of the beer. No head, and I mean none. Overall, a very nice beer.

(Bottle) Pours a deep amber body with a large rocky off-white head. Aroma of freshly cut grapefruit and orange. Good balance of hops and malt flavor. Great Double IPA!

Red copper colored with a creamy medium-dense head. Fruity malt aroma with clean, tight citrus hops aromatics and a bit of yeast. Dense malt flavors dominate and are surrounded by crisp citrus hops bitterness and a subtle, distinctive yeast character. A touch of sweetness serves as the foundation for a multi-layered hops character which oscillates between sweet and bitter and is held up by luscious aromatics. Very well-rounded with superb alcohol balance and a nice, long finish,

Tan head, medium stature, decent lace that lasts. A big juicey hop nose with a touch of bubblegum and an easy pineyness. Medium body, lightly viscous. A lucious hoppiness, piney, citrusy, rubbery with a bit of yummy, toasty malts backing them up. Good hoppiness and a solid maltiness makes this one nice DIPA! Finish is almost dry with a nice hoppossity. Thanks go out to SDbruboy for this one! Thanks Cliff! A real treat.

Pours a hazy copper color with chunky floaters and small off white head. Hoppy aroma with grapefruit and pine. smells thick and sweet. Flavor caramel and malty with some hop flavor but not as much as the aroma would lead you to believe. Finish is light hop but not really bitter. Could use a little more on the back end. Medium body.

Mostly clear copper brew with very little head.Aroma is mild, not a killer crushing blow of perfumey hops and sweet malt but more like a gentle slap if the face by a skinny girl with not much weight to put behind it.Piney resin more than the strong citrus like some IIPA’s.Flavor is better yet, very piney and no perfume.Very nice and keeps me wondering who can drink BMC brews.
