Poured a darker, hazy orange color with a small off white head. Aromas of flowers, grapefruit, spices, and some malts. Tastes of grapefruit, spices, light oranges and malts. Nice malts to hops balance. I’ll have to get some more of this one! egajdzis (3626), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 31, 2005 Poured a hazy orange color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Very nice aroma of floral hops, spicy citrus, grapefruit, and light sweet malts. Aroma reminded me a bit of Dreadnaught. Very hoppy, with a touch of sweet malts, lots of grapefruit. Nice hop burps followed. Big thanks to hopdog for sharing this one from my wishlist! willblake (2178), Belcamp, Maryland, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 30, 2005 03.30.05 Bomber purchased at Whole Foods, SF, CA. First impression is that this brew reminds me greatly of DFH 90min IPA, and, although that’s not shocking or unfortunate, it’s not what I expect from a west coast IIPA. Dark and hazy orange pour with spiffy tan head and thick, sheeting lace. Beautiful beer that looks exactly like I imagine an IIPA. Aroma is mega-resinous though betraying the deep malt structure to come. Like 90min, I also get a bit of an odd vegetal aroma, sort of herbal, root-ish. Flavor is all about balance. Big citrus, grapefruit, pine up front mellows and melts across the palate, sugar-coated and creamy. Finish is abusively bitter with a lingering hop chomp. Solid bready, grainy, and herbal throughout. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2005 Pours a golden hazy color, small white head. Aroma is floral hops, and a little lemon, and wheat. Flavor is dull, hoppy but dull overall. Lots of malt, the hops really dont push through on this brew. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 27, 2005 22 oz. bomber from Odeed. Pours a hazy orangey-amber color with a fairly thick, off-white head. . Aroma is dominated by grapefruit, pine, and a bold citrusy hops, but some sweetish malt is detected. The taste reveals a nice balance between the tremendous hop flavor and the caramelish maltiness that rests beneath. Nice full, round mouthfeel....very nice. The finish is nicely bitter...one of the tasties IIPAs out there. Thanks Odeed! aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA

Semi sweet malt body with some vanilla and cookie notes. The specs for a double list a minimun IBU of 75 and this is 60 what the hell. Give me bitter or give me water.
UPDATED 1/30/08
Alright I really like the updated recipe. Much more hop bitterness with great resin and oil on the palate. Really nice beer. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
