Commercial Description:
"White Knuckle Ale" is a Double India Pale Ale. That's right, twice the malt and twice the hops in one 14 barrel batch. It is named in honor of the exciting bike trail on Mt. Tam. If you are a "hophead", this one's for you; fat, chewy, resiny and pungent! Pour into a wide-mouthed glass and get ready to rip!

Thanks to CaptainCougar for this one!! #400 !!! This pours a beautiful deep amber color and the head is a thick fluffy off white. Absolutelywonderful aroma of hops, apricots and malt sweetness. Nice malt flavor with a nicely bittered aftertaste. Very well balanced, well done IIPA. A real treat!

22 oz Bottle- Pours a rich amber, with a smallish off white head, mild lacing. Wonderful hop aroma, lots of citrus, floral and pine. Nice character to this one. Pretty good balance, slightly different aftertaste than most 2IPA’s I’ve had,a little more spicy, not unpleasant though. Nice sweet malt flavor begins to shine through after a few sips, after the tongue recovers! A very nice 2IPA.

Medium amber with a small frothy head. Smells piney & grapefruity- just like an IPA should. Thick, bitter, and strong flavor. Very piney with some citrus in there. A nice beer.

22 oz bottle: WHOA! first question i asked when i poured it in to a tulip glass was: "Where’s the head on this beast"? The head is almost non existant, but lacy as you start to drink.. smells dank! like the sticky icky. hoppy hopperson. feels great in my mouth. thick, smooth, sticky and pungent. tastes like flowers, and, oh yeah, HOPS! well balanced. Doesn’t overwhelm you, but nurtures you like a mother’s nipple. toe up!

Medium copper orange with decent head that fades to a thin veneer, lots of floaties. Aroma of pure grapefruit and earth mixed with sweet malt. The flavor is far more malt oriented than the nose. Sweet, lightly caramel malts dominate. The grapefruit is in the background, along with a bit of a pine note. Ultimately a tad sweeter than I would have liked, but still a fine beer.

Deep amber color with a rocky cream colored head. Really smell like cooled fresh wort, the raw hops and light maltiness. Lightly smooth. Small trail of lace. Hops all over the place. I am guessing a lot of dry hopping. Nice balance to this one. I really enjoy the late maltiness. Not the overbearing acidic hops. Don't get me wrong there are plenty of hops. Its just the the malt win the battle in the finish, and I usually root for the malt.

tap @ hopyard: Very hoppy aroma. Green fruity and floral hops. Tast is also hoppy but not that bitter. You taste the hops very prominently, which creates a very nice balance, but still puts the hops first.

A golden amber color with floating sediment. A creamy white head reducing to a sheet of lace. Nose is floral hops with a strong pine resin and a hint of gapefruit scent spice and lime. Flavour is well malted with very piney hops, like licking a sugar coated pinecone. Also some fruity and citrus hops in the flavour. Finish is resiny and acidic with a dry aftertaste. An IPA drinkers IPA for sure.
