Nose is floral hops with a strong pine resin and a hint of gapefruit scent spice and lime. Flavour is well malted with very piney hops, like licking a sugar coated pinecone. Also some fruity and citrus hops in the flavour. Finish is resiny and acidic with a dry aftertaste. An IPA drinkers IPA for sure. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2004 Dark amber with a thick white head that leaves a good amount of lacing. There's a heavy dose of fresh hop aroma that's reminiscnet of lemon soap. The flavor is very sweet but not heavy. It would improve if a little less sweet, but still is pretty tasty. obxdude10 (1559), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Mar 24, 2004 Slight cloudiness to the copper color, decent fluffy white head, very little lacing though and below average retention, citrusy and hoppy nose, lots of hops in the flavors, notes of musty pine and earth in the flavors as well, dry & spicy finish, good malt profile to balance out the beer, excellent double IPA

Lively carbonation; clean and rich. Pretty big malt flavors (sweet cookie dough, earth). Aromas of oranges and flowers. Grassy, spicy hops. Nice amount of bitterness. Tasty beer. brewbandit (312), Marietta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 21, 2004 A light frothy head sits atop a rich amber hued body. Carbonation slowly rising through the brew. A citrus resiny aroma is followed by a similar assault on the palate with malt streaming in to balance. A truly wonderfully drinkable rendition. One to keep in one's cellar. But not too long lest the hops mellow on you! igneous1 (1374), Davenport, Iowa, USA
