Commercial Description:
"White Knuckle Ale" is a Double India Pale Ale. That's right, twice the malt and twice the hops in one 14 barrel batch. It is named in honor of the exciting bike trail on Mt. Tam. If you are a "hophead", this one's for you; fat, chewy, resiny and pungent! Pour into a wide-mouthed glass and get ready to rip!

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is dense grapefruity and orange fruity aroma. Dry fruity and solid hoppy with a slight leathery note. Fruity, oranges and mango, into a mild sweet flavoured and slight herbal dry finish.

pours a beautiful murky ripe peach color with a 1 finger lemony colored head that lasts a bit and clings nicely. aroma is awesome floral notes of juniper and citrus, and even has a finish of a sweet caramel malt that makes it smell like candy.the body actually starts wit ha very light and sweet appearance, which quickly gives way to the beers true hop content. it seems small at first, but as you finish the sip and exhale the air brings out a pungent blossoming of a variety of hop oils. the oile leaves a very nice bittersweet residue on the tongue, but less heavy on the palate making for a very smooth bomber to ones own head. there is enough malty sweetness in the aroma and flavor to spark a remembrance of barley wine for myself. the amount of hops is well balanced by this, since there is so much hoppiness that it warms your belly like a shot of whiskey. really great stuff, honored that this is my local brewery! thanks Brendan!

This one absolutely nails it. I can’t believe only one other 5 rating. So drinkable. So floral. Flavors are berries and peaches. Sweetness that I adore. Hop oil flavor fills your mouth. The head, the aroma, the color are to die for. The carbonation has a real sting and bite to it. Your senses are assaulted from every direction. There are doubles that are low in flavor and low in intensity. This is a high intensity double! Here’s a few descriptions from other reviews. Magnificent wonder. masterpiece, "hop cocktail". Sooooooooo Great!!!! Remarkable ale! decadent. This one is incredible. Simply astounding. "hop head high" Now how can you say this and not call it perfect! Well I did!!! This is a Hop friggin’ Atomic Bomb. I could go on and on but I digress. Did I just say digress?

Bottle from City Beer. Really nice nose of grapefruit, sour cherry/skin, tart hops and sweet malt. Flavor is on the rigid side, with hops, yeast and resin being the primaries. Almost sweet, but certainly very citric. Very quality.

Gold with a white bubbly head. Fresh, floral aroma as well as pine needles, but wet, not dry pine needles sitting in the sun. The taste is floral sweet balanced by something resembling leather. Good carbonation. The finish is largely sweet followed by a bitter trailer.

22 oz bottle. Pours a murky orange, thin head and some lacing. Aroma is unbelievable, it smells like fresh peaches. Flavor is sweet caramel malts perfectly balanced with hops that give its citrus and pine notes. Oily mouthfeel, long bitter finish with a slight gut warming sensation. Excellent IIPA.
