Aroma extremely fresh and potent with sweet hoppy goodness. Thick fully lasting head sits on top of this magnificent wonder. If you are a hophead then you will find the flavor of the brew to be perfectly sublime. Hops are nicely accentuated and balanced by this beers rich malts. Enhancing the flavor and presence of these hops even more is the rich creamy body of this masterpiece work of art. mrhoppy (217), Santa Clara, California, USA

So drinkable. So floral. Flavors are berries and peaches. Sweetness that I adore. Hop oil flavor fills your mouth. The head, the aroma, the color are to die for. The carbonation has a real sting and bite to it. Your senses are assaulted from every direction. There are doubles that are low in flavor and low in intensity. This is a high intensity double! Here’s a few descriptions from other reviews. Magnificent wonder. masterpiece, "hop cocktail". Sooooooooo Great!!!! Remarkable ale! decadent. This one is incredible. Simply astounding. "hop head high" Now how can you say this and not call it perfect! Well I did!!! This is a Hop friggin’ Atomic Bomb. I could go on and on but I digress. Did I just say digress? Huge hoppy aromatics, almost like cannibus. Huge west coast hop profile in the flavor, like sucking on a hop cone. Medium to full palate with a thick chewy character. This is an excellent beer. A whole bunch of fresh pine and hops in the nose. The flavor is a big kick of malt and hops but still finds balance. A grapefruit, lemon, and orange taste. The aftertaste is bitter . This one is highly complex and tasty. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 20, 2006 Nice reddish light brown body with an amazing nest of a head that is a pale yellow and creamy as all get out. Aroma is hoppy bliss. Rich grass and dripping pine resin. This smells amazing, like sticking your head in the hop freezer at the homebrew shop, decadent. So damn hopped up it made me twinge, I liked it; no beer has made me twinge in a good way before. An amazing layered flavor of spicy grass, pine, and sugars. A palate killer for sure, but it dies happy. Happiness is Paul Simon coming out of the speakers a nice relaxing piece of fiction in front of me and this beer. At 1:32 a.m. on a Sunday after making some solid bank at work and unwinding. Damn this is good and has a nice mouth feel that is slick and oily but enveloping and prickly on my tongue but still a bit smooth in its own way. Vanilla sweetness with some sherbet and ice cream notes dance around here. Liquid hops pure and simple and just delicious. This actually leaves my mouth numb. I love it.

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jan 25, 2006 White Knuckle Ale pours to a beautiful, bright, deep amber color with thick and creamy off white head that chases the beer down to the end of the glass, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose on this beer just bursts with citric and piney waves of hop aromas. Hops dominate the nose, but they are not alone, there is a nice back drop of some fruity esters, and slight hints of alcohol strength. The palate is fat and chewy on the tongue with good pale and caramel malt flavors, paired with some nice estery fruit, and resiny hop flavor. White Knuckle then finishes with an intense, piney and resiny hop bitterness that tattoos the tongue and lingers for quite some time.
This is an awesome "Double IPA" with big hop aromas, flavors, and bitterness, paired with a big smack of malt sweetness, some good estery fruit, and a good punch of alcohol. White Knuckle is an intensely hoppy beer, and what I like to call a "hop cocktail".

Huge hop explosion - but well defined, not just a random flavor. Marin is #1. I had to buy a couple of case at the brewpub last time I saw it. have not seen it in a while now. Color, a bright, full-on orange, totally opaque, under a full, flush, creamy off-whitish head.
Aroma: outsized grapefruit & citrus at the onset, huge hops aplenty, fresh and fierce, though friendly, starting a fine commotion in the nose.
Big flavor too, and creamy, too. Hops continue to deliver a tasty buzz, with a unique flavor, still highly citric, yet balanced quite adequately by the malts. Every part rises up to match the others and produces a most remarkable ale!
Fruit factor is never-ending, fresh, delicious, juicy, tasty, zingy...finish is the same, and lasts just long enough. Medium to full body, thoroughly invigorating texture. 8% ABV didn’t register much in this tasting...wait, now, there it is, okay...yeah, it’s nice, though...yuuummm...
Top-notch IPA, ranks up there with the best I’ve ever tried!
