Musky earthen floral aroma, hard to pinpoint. Aromatics extend to flavors, along with a grainy sweetness. Almost perfume finish. Mouthfeel is light with a large CO2 component. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 14, 2005 (22 oz bottle: $2.99 at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA) The typical mess was waiting for me, Pale straw in color, and only somewhat hazy, this is a pretty sickly look beer, but after all, the beer is called "Hefe Weiss", so I guess I should have expected the "white" color. The head wanted to explode out of the glass, but Marin bottles have pulled that trick on me once too often, so I was ready. Thus, I only got a few inches of bubbly, white head which quickly died down to a manageable level, leaving some large patches of foam on the glass. The nose is perfumy and sweet, with a grainy aroma that is getting close to smelling like corn. More borderline grain/corn flavor as the base, with some a very gentle bitterness in the finish. The strong fruity notes that are intially sweet, but then become tart and acidic in the finish. It all remind me of a cheap, sweet sparkling wine (I guess that’s redundant). The body is light and vivacious from all the effervescence and the tart finish. I fully recognize that this is one bizarro beer. It’s not like a German Hefeweizen, but it’s not supposed to be. It’s not like your typical American Wheat beer either. It’s just weird, but for whatever reason, I’m kind of liking it. I’ll actually drink the entire bomber in one sitting. mustangjoe (172), redondo beach, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 6, 2005 Bottle. Poured the typical hazy yellow color with a decent sized head. Aroma was pretty bland, mostly spice coming through. The flavor was not to my liking, did not have the usual banana, yeast taste to it. It had a spicy taste that was a little off to me. Not a German style hefe to me, more an interpretation of an American wheat I think. Not too good though. hopdog (5614), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 21, 2005 Bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf (Thanks!). There was a loud popping sound as I opened this one. Talk about pouring all head - 7 finger sized head with less than a third sized finger of liquid. Poured a cloudy light yellow color (when the head finally settled down). Aromas of yeast and light spices. Tastes of wheat, lemons, spices and light bananas. Tonsk45 (17), El Cajon, California, USA

I do not recomend it. worst wheat I’ve tasted SDalkoholic (1198), Chula Vista, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 14, 2005 Some light aroma of apple and shampoo. Big huge fluffy head on top a yellow hazed liquid that is easily seen through. Flavor is bland and almost empty. Nothing to describe this by besides tasting like mineral water with a pinch of a spice thrown in. Very disappointing for being labeled a German hefeweizen. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 3, 2005 Pours extremely pale color, hazy, lots of carbonation, enormous head that gets in the way and won’t go away. Aroma is of candy... I’m thinking pez. Flavor is surprisingly bland. No hops, no malt, no bitterness. Medium body so you can feel it in your mouth, thats really the only way your mouth knows this is beer. Finishes exactly like a club soda would- with carbonation bite but no flavor. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 14, 2004 Foggy gold color. Fast forming head, that is quickly dissapated. Aroma is fruity, with wheat and yeast. Nice balance, and pleasant taste. Kinda apple-esque. Decent Wheat beer.
