Tastes kind of like medicine.I expected something more hoppy based on the name, but the flavor was a mixture of herbs and malt, maybe? It looks unfiltered, meaning it pours hazy, dark golden color. No head to speak of. All in all drinkable, but nothing I would seek out. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 20, 2005 Poured a hazy light amber color. Aroma and flavor were spicey. Underneath that was the malt and some citrus flavors. The spices were easy to find and were located all over the beer. Not a huge fan of this one. droopy49 (97), Lancaster, California, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 14, 2005 The aroma is lightly spiced with cinammon, nutmeg and aslo holds a mint and juju bees candy aroma. After a couple of sips the inital thought of mine was that this was a heavily spiced ale because i could feel the spice from the inside my throat. Wide varities of flavors interact with the aroma unmasking signs of spice, ginger root, nutmeg, brown sugar, cinnamon, hazelnut, and only the slightest touch of orange. A nice holiday ale i will sure pick up again. beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2005 This beer kinda hit my taste buds weird at first, kinda leaving me uninterested, but being my last beer i continued on. This beer really grew on me the more i drank, one of the first "winter hoppers" that really had a good blend of spices too it that i’ve had. The nice hoppy base was a nice beer and the orange and vanilla finish kinda gave it that holiday ale edge. Over all just a well thought out blend that didn’t turn into a spice monster like anchor OSA and wasn’t just a sweeter winter hop beer. beercollector (13), Astoria, Oregon, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 11, 2005 I expect a beer named "hoppy" to have hops. This one had mild evrythng. Aroma, malt, and lite hops. There was a great head frothy and white. Good clear orange color. And a nice orange flavor with a hint of malt and hops.
This could be a lite session beer excpet for the 7% alcohol mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 21, 2005 Bottled. Pours golden in color with hints of red. Spicy aroma. I can smell some nutmeg and cinnamon. Smells a little yeasty as well. Nice festive spicy flavor. Reminds me a little bit of gingerbread cookies. Not a bad holiday brew. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 13, 2005 Odd combination of flavors. Spiced X-mas style with a somewhat lactic and artificial sweetener derived palate. Some lite orange peel and vanilla with big nutmeg and cinnamon. Stange waxy and sweet mouthfeel. Cloying finish.
