From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a fully gone head. Light spiced hoppy dry aroma. Dry leathery hops flavoured, mild sweet fruity note. Medium bitter finish mixed with a reasonable portion of malt to provide some backing on the body.7-3-7-3-14=3.4 illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Jul 14, 2009 RBSG09 on tap at the brewpub. Pours golden amber with a whitish sudsy head. Aroma is piney hops, sweet citrus, English-like malts. Flavor is pale malts and floral hops with additional accents of pine sap and grapefruit. Medium bitterness, could use some more hops honestly. Still nice and drinkable. jrob21 (1252), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jul 11, 2009 Bottle from a recent trade. Hazy dull gold color with a decent white head. Aroma was mostly orange and some floral/herbal notes. A bit of caramel malt in there too. Flavor was a little muted an dull but mostly light sweet caramel malt up front and a grapefruit peel sort of finish. Decent but everything was just a bit toned down. nickd717 (1276), Palo Alto, California, USA Jun 30, 2009 Tap at the brewpub. Golden-amber in color with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel malt and floral/piney hops, like a hopped-up version of their Mt. Tam Pale Ale. Flavor is more of the same with fresh-tasting C-hops and sweet malt. Nice palate with hops lingering.
