Excellent retention. Cascade aroma... mainly grapefruit. Caramel malt. Tangy, bitter-sweet flavor. Moderate hops backed by moderate malt. Medium-bodied and lightly creamy with lively carbonation. Finishes tangy and bitter, then dry. Thanks to zanthrus13 for sending the bottle! Sammy (4068), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2006 Orange with some head. Hoppy though not grapefruit aroma. On very bitter side, certainly well hopped. Canadian malt is hometown stuff but I felt this was missing the balance I have had in other IPAs. Nicely drinkable with food which offsets acidic aftertaste footbalm (1219), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Cheesy yeast with some kind of wood smell(oak?). Good flavor with bitterness ruling the day. HumuloneRed (750), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 23, 2006 22 oz. Bottle. I brought this back on a recent to the Pacific Northwest with fond memories of this beer from the GABF. It holds up to it’s memory. It pours a cloudy light amber with a nice off-white head and lacing. Citrus juicy fruit nose with almost “dank” edge. The flavor delivers as well with big hop flavor with a good bitterness that balances the big malt background. Very good beer. I which I had more. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2006 From a 22oz. brown bomber bottle with a blurb and serving suggestions about the AIPA on the back of label. Made a good appearance, poured a hazy
copper hued brown with a clingy, foamy, pale tannish white head that settled into a thin, foamy, bubbly lacing,
good carbonation. Had a slightly bitter, piney, citric zesty, earthy and spicy hop nose with a toasted malty background.
A crisp, textured, smooth medium bodied mouth feel, good drinkability. Piney, zesty, earthy, spicy and citric
fresh, raw hop taste, soft, but lingering in it’s bitterness, a struggling to balance toasted maltiness and a crisp hoppy,
grainy finish with the piney, zesty hoppiness lingering in the palate. Overall, hops do have a slight
pluckering effect.
A nice hoppy AIPA from Marin, if you like hops, well worth seeking out and trying.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 25, 2006 poured a cloudy amber hue with a two finger white head. Not hoppy and lacks some bitters, but more than makes up for it with a rich malty flavor that includes citrus and caramel. A fine job. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2006 This is a superbly well balanced IPA. Citrus and floral hops are dominating the aroma, the malt presence is very rich and full of sweet toffee and caramel, but very malty, not to say, that either one dominates, it is a very well balanced IPA.
