Aroma is dominated by floral and citrus hops, grapefruit in particular, with light notes of caramel malts and summer fruits. Flavor also heavy on the hops, but the malts stand out nicely as well - caramel and biscuity malts, lemon, spruce hops with a grapefruit rind finish. Medium body and gently building carbonation. Nice example of a West Coast IPA. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2006 A solid perfomer in the IPA market. This bottle pours out a medium to deep amber colored beer that is quite clear on first pour. An attractive off-white head forms and slowly fades down to a layer over the liquid and leaves fantastic lacing behind. Aroma is pleasant, quite floral with bits of citrus rind thrown in. Moderate malt hits the nose and is fairly sweet, ala caramel. Medium bodied. Flavor is hop dominant with flowery tastes mixing with sweet caramel. Very lightly drying. Slight amounts of alcohol warm in the belly, my bottle lists this as 7% by volume. Well executed IPA. GG (1640), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2006 A very mild IPA comparitively to the other IPA’s I’ve imbibed, I really enjoyed this. A very citrusy aroma, little head and a very burnt orange color, almost like steeped tea. Very mild hops, not overpowering like some IPA’s tend to be, which is good in my opinion. I can see why this IPA won so many medals. Well worth the money if you happen to see it in your local haunt. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jan 23, 2006 One of the better IPA’s Iv’e had. Pours a hazy dark orange with a big tan head. Aroma of hop, pine, and citrus. Sweet malts come first, but are followed by the resin and hops. Very nice. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 21, 2005 Aroma of grapefruit, orange, lavender. Appears a hazy yellow-orange-brown color. Flavor is bitter-hoppy but well-balanced by finishing malt. Palate is sharp, bitter and a bit slick. Overall, this beer is greater than or equal to the sum of its parts.
