The aroma has notes of piney and resiny hops along with grapefruit and green tea esters. Also some biscuity and caramel malt, chalky yeast and some clove and pepper vapours. The taste is much more balanced than the nose lets on. Twangy and pungent hops profile is countered by sweet bready and toffee malt. The finish displays hop spice and some alcohol snap, a touch medicinal. The mouth feel is crisp and refreshing but the metallic finish does tend to wear on me. All in all a solid IPA that I bet would be even better on tap. Nik925 (305), California, USA

Just behind the great hoppy beers at Russian River. rayOfBeer (319), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 21, 2008 Poured at Marin brewing a glowing orange with a small white head. Nose is citrusy floral hops with a dash of pine. Flavor follows with a floral hoppiness that is mildly bitter, gratefruit, malt, and caramel. Palate is mild bitter with a hint of sweetness and not chewy or over the top bitter/floral like some IPA’s. It has a mild finish with a malt mouth fullness. Overall a good choice, easy to drink, very balanced beer. mreusch (731), Olathe, Kansas, USA

Pours a hazy golden with a towering and persistent chunky sea foam head that leaves thick sheets of lace. Aroma has a nice nose of floral, citrus and some pine. Flavor is a nice balance of citrus and sweet, with a little more pine blended in and a well controlled hops bite. Very quaffable and tasty; thanks again Steve! elcaballo (101), Beverly Hills, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2008 Not a bad beer at all. Floral with a little citrus. Its got some hops up front. But the body is made up largely of sweet malts. Not my favorite IPA but very drinkable kwoeltje (1321), Manchester, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2008 (cask at the Larkspur Landing brewpub) copper with nice head. Only mild hops aroma. Flavor was nice hops, not overwhelming. More of a British IPA - especially with the great cask mouthfeel. Earlier Rating: 10/8/2005 Total Score: 3.7 (draught at the brewpub) medium amber with small head but nice lace. Lovely hops aroma. Pine hops in the flavor. Definately a west coast style IPA Ramenen (456), San Salvador, El Salvador
