Not very hoppy for an IPA, tastes between a pale and an IPA. Nice light malty flavor as well. I love Marin!! argo0 (7013), Washington DC, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Feb 12, 2003 This one pours a cloudy amber color with a big off-white head that lingers for a while before finally receding to a thin layer of foam. Nice lacings line the insides of the glass. The aroma is very fruity and citrusy from the hops. Medium bodied, no big hop flavor profiles like some American IPA's, this one is quite smooth and malty, with some hop bitterness in the finish, but not much. Very well balanced flavor and alcohol is well hidden. Nice. Kinz (2220), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Feb 14, 2004 Combined notes from draft and bottled tastings. Medium orange, nice head. Big aroma of orange, grapefruit, and pine. Grapefruit hops melt into resinous, spicy finish. Just enough malts to balance. Earthy notes in there too. unclebleen (620), California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2003 Poured a coppery color with an average sized off-white head. The smell of this beer is amazing. Very hoppy nose, citrus and pine. Flavor does not quite live up to the aroma but is still very good. Not quite as hoppy as expected but well balanced. Creamy mouthfeel and dry finish. A great session beer.
