A volcanic spew of beige foam flowed out of the bottle as soon as I opened it. Once things calmed down, the massive foamy head sat like an iceberg atop a slighly hazy, caramel colored beer that had the expected Left coast hop profile with grapefruit rind and doughy sweetness of malts. A good balance of sweet pastry maltiness and pine/citrus hops with some dank basement tossed in the mix. A pleasant bitter follow.

on tap at fatheads in cleveland. pours a hazy orange with creamy white head. A healthy dose of grapefruit, orange, and pine against a nice caramel backing. Nice body. Well balanced. Great beer!

Beer pours lightly cloudy, copper color with a nice thick retained beige colored head. Aroma is intially quite citrusy, mostly along the lines of grapefruit, however with addtional inspection there is a good bit of caramel malt aroma along with some significant earthy yeast notes. Flavor is obviously bitter with very little sweetness with some light saltiness. Palate is smooth to the point of being slick, nice and fully rounded with a bitter finish. A nice IPA. I wished it were available locally.

Sampled at the brewpub. Deep copper amber with a slightly hazy head. Very mild nose, flowers, pine. Flavor is herbal, almost like a tea, with caramel sweetness. Dry finish. Not nearly as aggressive as other IPAs either in nose or flavor.

On tap. Clear amber golden with a small off-white head. Sweet fruits and caramel in the nose. Quite full-bodied with solid sweet caramel and a lovely fruitiness. Discreet bitterness. A rather sweet but fine IPA. 110709 and 240709
