Smell ever so slightly nutty with subdued earthy, grassy hops and a hint of cereal, sweet malt. Tastes nice and hoppy a little on the sweet side, grassy and coating with a solid backbone of dry, cereal malt. Medium, coating body, just ok carbonation. Beardface (1001), Eugene, Oregon, USA

Very fruity and cascadey with a bitter finish. Kind of a boring pale ale, not that it’s a super exciting style to begin with I suppose. This one kind of just sits there. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 6, 2008 Huge white head and good lacings. Amber color and piney-hop aroma. Malt and hops are typical of the West Coast IPA flavors and a bit much for an APA. Very fine brew. Only downside was the possible over carbonation but may have been the result of too much josteling on the trip home. Would definately have this again. Nice label art. fakepurseninja (782), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2008 Nice flagship, west coast APA. Nice biscuity malt backbone with a full floral hop component. Light pine and citrus, RunDWP (203), San Jose, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2008 On tap. Seems like the flagship brew for Marin Brewing, and I can see why. I found this pretty bitter, more like an IPA than an ale. Floral, piney aroma. Burnt orange color with a fluffy white head and lots of lacing on the glass. Some sweet maltiness, but a lot of surprising piney hops bittness, and some floral flavor notes. Complex and well balance. Really liked this. mpersinger (183), , California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2008 Growler from Brewery. Pours pale amber with carbonation true to style. Aroma leads with green apple then apple vinegar. Body is thin, with astringent finish (cascade) hopiness. Lacing. Orange and peanut in finish. blutt59 (2110), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2008 In the bomber bottle from HyVee CB. Pours a rich dark gold with a large beige head. A fairly classic pale ale. Grapefruit and mild pine aroma. A very nice hop aroma. Flavor has just a dab of butterscotch mixed with the orange and grapefruit citrus taste. Nice malty finish. This is a good bottled pale ale. Better than SNPA.
