I am still not sure it is a pale ale since it is so hoppy and more orange-golden in color than I’d expect. The NW hops (Cascade, Columbus, Amarillo) are perfectly balanced in this very easy drinking Amercan ale. Great! Great! Great! BitterPoet (55), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA

Round maple notes and ash bottom. Pineapple and mango. Bursting with freshness. Possibly the pinnacle of pale ale pursuits! jschlunt (8), Los Angeles, California, USA does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Apr 3, 2003 A really great beer. Pours with a thick white head that lasts forever. Has a cloudy brown hue. Mouthfeel is super smooth and flavor is full of hoppy goodness and strong malts with little to no bitterness. Only a PA huh? Maybe just by name. The smell is very IPA’ish which is very good IMO. Everything else about this brew is very well ballanced. Nice foam head on it that lasts. Taste, like the smell, leans a little more towards an IPA but not quite like the smell does. The hops are there in the taste but fade pretty quick. Very drinkable, esp. for a hop head.
