Poured a ruby color with a medium sized tan head. Malty, sugar, sweet. Hoppy middle and finish. Pretty warming. Medium to full body with a smooth mouthfeel.

Super sweet English-style BW, burning alcohol tinge, some fruits and TONS of caramel. Sticky. Meh.

Very fruit forward barleywine. Ripe fruits and some roasted nuts in caramel. Plums and apricots with some pear and mango. Clean and rounded with some residual sweetness. Some caramel and vanilla. Not much roasted malt presence, with notes of munich and caravienne. Nice hopping good bitterness with overall grassy and resinous finish.

Deep amber color with a typically reserved Barleywine head. Decent malt/hop aroma. Well balanced flavor of malt and hops. Good solid overall Barleywine which isn’t either bad or outstanding.

Pours a transparent copper ruby with a thin light tan head. Has a floral, dry hoppy and grainy malty aroma. Starts malty and sweet with some citrusy hops coming in toward the finish. Decent complexity and hoppy/malty balance throughout. Thanks to SpringsLicker for sharing this at the Southeastern Gathering!

Bottle vintage unknown. Thanks to brewbandit for the bottle. Murky ruby body topped by a medium, fine-particled tan head. The aroma is light sweet fruit, caramel, light pineapple, and some hints of wet cardboard. The flavor is loaded with alcohol, burnt sugar, nutty roasted malt, and some chocolate. It is quite bitter, especially at the swallow. The palate is assertive up front then it starts to soften but never really fully does. The alcohol is bold in this one and may detract just a bit from the final product.

02.20.05 Tap at Toronado BWF Dark amber pour with middling head. All malts right up to the finish are mellow, caramel, vinous, roasted pear, mascerated mixed berries. Went well with lamb sausage from next door. Soothing and smooth but a clean finish.

Poured a nice amber brown with light head. Malty caramel aroma and flavors with hints of hop fruitiness. An easy drinking enjoyable barleywine.
