22 oz. bottle - pours clear, dark copper with off white head fading to the edges; faint aromas of apple, light candy syrup, toffee and fruit punch; drinks on the sweet side and light bodied; almost medicinal in its sweetness; flat, mild sugary finish; pretty blah overall

Bomber. Poured deep reddish-brown with a short cap of beige head. The aroma picked up earthy, dried floral, and citrusy hoppage over vinous notes, deep caramel, and bready character.. just exquisite! The flavor was nearly as good.. lightly sour, strong dark fruity notes hit the tongue first with a wash of raisins and warm sourdough washing over the middle.. bitterness was mild-to-medium, but felt like it was stronger initially, with citrus and earth presence.. finished with residual dark fruity sugars and floral bitterness. Heavier-bodied with great balance on the palate.. bitterness was complementary and engaging.. memorable finish. Excellent stuff all around!

Bottled. Thanks to larsniclas. Clear copper colour with beige head. Subtle aroma, yet there are clear notes of fruits, tidbits and raspberry gel. Wonderful, smooth mouthfeel with wide malt spectre, with big mouthfeel without being cloying. Suggestions of tidbits, fruits(raspberries), caramel, and luckily enough not loaded with hop flavour/bitterness, that sometimes ruins the American Style Barley Wine. Superb maltiness here.

Bomber pours a nice amber hue with decent enough tan head that can throw up some spotty lacing from time to time. The aroma is full of figs, dates, prunes and cherries. It seems a bit bold and a bit too bright. The taste begins slick and sweet with malts and then quickly moving to fairly bold/bright notes of figs and cherries. Toward midway it picks up some raisins and another mild wave of smooth maltiness to go along with some sort of candi sugar that gives it just a bit of a beet sensation. The sweet malts attempt to pull the flavor together but they doesn’t really make it. I think a year or couple of years of age will even this out and create a pleasing blended complex flavor.
