MrRoss (614), Delta, British Columbia, Canada Nov 4, 2009 From Firefly. Poured seriously dark, almost black, beneath a creamy tan head of no great thickness; this did not stay very long. Not a lot for the nose here, maybe some roasted malt. Taste was delicious, with coffee, the malt, and perhaps dark chocolate at play. Nice dry finish. mrhoppy (209), Santa Clara, California, USA Oct 26, 2009 Very Delicious and drinkable. Smooth. Perfectly roasted.
ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA Oct 24, 2009 bottle thanks to bleeng. poured black with a beige head. aroma of grains, dark roast, and chocolate with the flavor being much the same. light body with high carbonation. Soonah (900), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Oct 22, 2009 Poured clear dark brown with an almost two-finger tall tan head. The aroma was roasted malts, chalky and a touch of coffee. The flavor was smoky, roasted malts, light coffee and a touch of chocolaty sweetness. The mouthfeel was thin and the finish fairly succinct. Drinkable, just not all that exciting. mgermani (862), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 20, 2009 Pours a dark black-brown with no head to speak of and a sweet brown sugar aroma with notes of chocolate and vanilla - yum! Solid sweet malt backbone, light spice, all the character of a gingersnap without the ginger. Light chocolate roastiness, lingering sweet finish. Gooey body with decent carbonation, I wish it had been a tad creamier (with a bit of head). Very solid porter, quaffable and well-executed. Yum! Cavie (1317), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Oct 18, 2009 Bottle courtesy of bleeng. Heavy dark red and brown pour. Sweet brown aroma with flavors of bread. Smacks of sweet bread and tart flavors. Crit (2399), New Westminster, British Columbia, Canada Sep 8, 2009 Black, lasting brown head. Mocha brown sugar nose. Medium roast profile, mocha mid, good roast bitterness in finish.
A bit on the thin side. Some lacing on glass DJMonarch (6036), Northwich, Cheshire, England Aug 24, 2009 From the Jug at the GABF Colorado Convention Center, Denver 10/10/2008
Roast aroma. Black smooth and a little rich on the palate. Fruity with a crisp and slightly dry full roast finish.
