Pours a dark black-brown with no head to speak of and a sweet brown sugar aroma with notes of chocolate and vanilla - yum! Solid sweet malt backbone, light spice, all the character of a gingersnap without the ginger. Light chocolate roastiness, lingering sweet finish. Gooey body with decent carbonation, I wish it had been a tad creamier (with a bit of head). Very solid porter, quaffable and well-executed. Yum!

Sampled at the brewpub. Slightly watery, opaque black with almost no head. Aroma of toast and dark fruits. Flavor is nicely balanced, toasted malts, nuts, dark chocolate with a sweet finish. Very nice.

Bomber poured into a pint glass. Dark brown with reddish highlights and a massive, fluffy tan head. Tons of sticky lacing. Aroma is a little subdued but what’s there is pretty nice. Milk chocolate, coffee beans, fudge, and toasted bread. Flavor is burnt coffee and the darkest possible chocolate, with only a quick flash of milk chocolate sweetness in the middle. Finishes dry and roasty with a lingering bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and airy. Pretty good beer, although rather stoutish.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt, light coffee note. Ashtrayish and hard roasted malt flavoured, mild hops bitterness. No real roasted acidity. Nice smooth roasted malt and light bitterness from the hops. Vague touch of liqourice into a nice roasted flavoured finish.
