bomber by way of the bman... the pour is a near black shade of brown with a foamy soft tan head and random spotty lacing. fudgey chocolate is on the nose behind a bit of smoke, ashy roast, sour coffee and dried fruit/prunes. the flavor follows and adds some nutty cream and a very dry finish. there is a faint malty sweetness up front with a nice acidic balance. the mouth feel is soft and rich yet acidic and prickly with carbonation. the body is one of the fullest regular porters i’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking.... it is quite substantial and probably the best characteristic of the whole package! 7/4/8/5+/16/4.0

Bottle from BevMo in Vacaville, CA. Poured a dark brown color with a tan head. Roasted malt and chocolate flavor. A little too sweet and somewhat thin on the palate. Good brew!!

Courtesy of After4ever, thanks Tom. It is black with a light brown, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and light licorice. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, chocolate, cocoa, licorice and also a little dark fruits. The finish is dry and citrussy.

Poured deep brown, not quite black, but completely opaque. Full three-finger head that retained very well and left substantial lacing. Strong chocolate and coffe aromas with plenty of smokiness. Roasted malts and a subtle hops bitterness rounded out the flavor profile. Rich, soft mouthfeel, very well carbonated, and a sweetish chocolate aftertaste.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown pour with a solid tan head. Nice roasted aroma with a huge whiff of chocolate and a bit of coffee. Flavor is roasted chocolate with mild coffee. Solid if not spectacular example of style.

Pours dark brown, almost black, with a foamy tan head. Aroma is roasty and grainy, quite a bit of coffee and pretty mild. Flavor is again roasty and grainy with some coffee, and not much else. A bit of alcohol doesn’t work for this. It is definitely not rich and velvety as described, more thin and kind of bland. Carbonation is abundant.
