This draft brew from the brew pub poured a head of finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were fully diminished and left behind a opaque no visible carbonation black colored body. The aroma was brown malt dark malt and licorice. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained notes of dark malt and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

22. Thanks, Foolish_Mortal! Pours a deep, nearly opaque black with a thinnish, sudsy tan head. Odd nose of dark fruit, some chocolate and licorice. A bit schizophrenic. Medium-bodied attack, somewhat raw carb. Very forward plummy licorice flavors, not very pleasant. Mid-palate goes a bit watery and the finish is rather acetic grain husk. This seems so far off what the other notes say that I have to wonder whether it’s a bad batch.

Bottle. Huge creamy light brown head that mostly lasted. Excellent display of lacework I must say. Very dark color liquid. Aroma was chocolate, coffee, burned notes with some nutty accent as well. Light floral notes could be detected, with some prunes and liquorish as well. Full bodied with a lively carbonation and somewhat alcoholic texture. Moderated sweet flavor with some burned and hoppy bitter notes. Light bitter chocolate finish.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours a dark brown with a reddish hue and a tall and extremely lively, beige, shaving foam style head that just keeps on coming. Sweetish yet lightly burned aroma. Fairly light in body with this heavy carbonation. Burned malt accents, some bitter chocolate and a fairly distinct bitterness in the finish. More of a Stout than a Porter in my book. 160607

Pours with a three finger thick, rich, creamed-chocolate colored head that sits atop an almost black brew. The aroma has a rich mix of chocolate, a dusting of roast coffee aromatics, toasted grain and something like a darkly browned bread crust.

Lightly carbonated, which gives this beer a very smooth feel to it. The beer is not rich though, in fact it might even be a little thin. Not overly roasted, but it does have a nice dark chocolate note plus a light roasted grain-husk astringency in the finish. Roasted coffee notes are apparent at times in the finish. This is quite easy drinking, and though I might complain a little about the mouthfeel, it is eminently quaffable. Lightly sweet with a note somewhat similar to burnt plums or maybe even raisins. Very light flavored in some ways, yet it is still distinctly flavored. I am not quite too sure what to think of the flavors at time, but this is tasty.
